বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় চিড়িয়াখানা ঢাকার মিরপুরে অবস্থিত একটি চিড়িয়াখানা। এটি বাংলাদেশ সরকারের মৎস্য ও প্রাণিসম্পদ মন্ত্রণালয় এর অধীনস্থ একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান। ১৯৫০ সালে হাইকোর্ট চত্বরে জীবজন্তুর প্রদর্শনশালা হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় চিড়িয়াখানাটি। পরবর্তীকালে ১৯৭৪ সালে বর্তমান অবস্থানে স্থানান্তরিত হয়।

চিড়িয়াখানাটি উদ্বোধন ও সর্বসাধারণের জন্য উন্মুক্ত হয় ১৯৭৪ সালের ২৩ জুন। বছরে প্রায় ৩০ লক্ষ দর্শনার্থী ঢাকা চিড়িয়াখানা পরিদর্শন করে থাকেন। ২০১৫ সালের ৫ ফেব্রুয়ারি নাম পরিবর্তন করে ঢাকা চিড়িয়াখানা থেকে বাংলাদেশ জাতীয় চিড়িয়াখানা নামকরণ করা হয়। ঢাকা চিড়িয়াখানার বার্ষিক বাজেট ৩৭.৫ মিলিয়ন টাকা, যার মধ্যে ২৫ মিলিয়ন টাকা পশুদের খাওয়ানোর জন্য ব্যয় করা হয়।

প্রধান প্রদর্শনসমূহের মধ্যে উল্লেখ্যযোগ্য- রয়েল বেঙ্গল টাইগার, এশীয় সিংহ, লোনা পানির কুমির, ইমপালা, এমু, টাপির, এশীয় কালো ভাল্লুক ইত্যাদি।

(Redowan Says: সাপ দেখতে পাচ্ছি আমরা, অজগর সাপ। অজগর সাপটি ঘুমাচ্ছে। আমরা ছোট বেলায় শিখেছি, অ তে অজগরটি আসতে পেরে অবশ্যই অজগরটি আসতে পারছেনা, এটি শুয়ে আছে। একটু পরে হয়তো খাবার দেওয়া হবে, নিশ্চই এরা খুর্ধাথ, ক্লান্ত। আমরা এখন রয়েছি সাপের জায়গায়।)

ঢাকা চিড়িয়াখানার আয়তন প্রায় ৭৫ হেক্টর। চিড়িয়াখানার চত্বরে ১৩ হেক্টরের দুটি দৃষ্টিনন্দন প্রশস্ত লেক আছে।

২০২২ সাল পর্যন্ত ঢাকা চিড়িয়াখানায় ১৯১ প্রজাতির ৪৯৭২ টি প্রাণী রয়েছে। তবে ঢাকা চিড়িয়াখানায় ১৩৮ প্রজাতির ২ হাজার ৬২২টি প্রাণী ও পাখি রয়েছে বলে জানিয়েছেন মৎস্য ও প্রাণী সম্পদ মন্ত্রী মোহাম্মদ ছায়েদুল হক।

চিড়িয়াখানাটি ঘুরতে ঘুরতে পেয়ে যাবেন, শিশুদের জন্য ছোট্ট একটি শিশু পার্ক। এ-ই পার্কে তেমন কিছু না থাকলেও উল্লেখযোগ্য দুটি রাইড রয়েছে। তার মধ্যে একটি হলো ট্রেন রাইড।

এই চিড়িয়াখানাটিতে রয়েছে একটি Zoo Museum। ১০ টাকার টিকিটে এই প্রাণী জাদুঘরে দেখতে পাবেন, মানুষের তৈরী তিমির কংকালসহ বেশ কিছু ফিস এ্যাকুরিয়াম।

☑️কিভাবে আসবেন:

মিরপুর এক নম্বরের সনি সিনেমা হলের সামনের গোলচত্বর থেকে যে রাস্তাটি উত্তর দিকে গিয়েছে, সে রাস্তাটি সরাসরি চিড়িয়াখানার দিকে গিয়েছে। সনি সিনেমা হলের সামনে থেকে আপনি রিক্সা বা বাসে করে সরাসরি চিড়িয়াখানা যেতে পারেন।

☑️কখন আসবেন:

গ্রীষ্মকালে ১ই এপ্রিল থেকে ৩০ই শে সেপ্টেম্বর সকাল ৯টা থেকে সন্ধ্যা ৬টা পুর্যন্ত চিড়িয়াখানা খোলা থাকে। শীতকালে ১ই অক্টোবর থেকে ৩১ই শে মার্চ সকাল ৮টা থেকে বিকাল ৫টা পুর্যন্ত চিড়িয়াখানা খোলা থাকে।

☑️সাপ্তাহিক বন্ধ:

চিড়িয়াখানা প্রতি রবিবার সাপ্তাহিক বন্ধ থাকে। তবে রবিবার যদি সরকারি বন্ধ হয় তাহলে সেই রবিবার চিড়িয়াখানা খোলা থাকে। এছাড়া ঈদের দিনেও চিড়িয়াখানা খোলা থাকে।

☑️টিকেট:

দুই বছরের বেশি যে কারও জন্যে প্রবেশ টিকেটের মূল্য ৫০ টাকা।

এছাড়া ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের জন্য প্রবেশ টিকেট মূল্য অর্ধেক। সেই ক্ষেত্রে নিজ নিজ শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানের আইডি কার্ড দেখাতে হবে।

পিকনিক স্পট ভাড়া: উৎসব এবং নিঝুম নামের পিকনিক স্পট সারাদিনের জন্যে ভাড়া করতে লাগবে যথাক্রমে ১০,০০০ ও ৬,০০০ টাকা।
